Having a 100% gluten-free restaurant who has no nuts or peanuts and can make dairy-free alternatives is just about the best thing we could have found on our Toronto trip! The owner has Celiac Disease and completely understands the issues of going gluten-free and dealing with cross contamination. Feeling safe is worth every penny!
The place is small and quaint. They serve appetizers, salads, burgers, fish, steak and a large selection of beers. While some dishes are not so kids friendly (spicy) they modified them for us! They also have a waffle menu on the weekends which I hear is amazing, but we did not have a chance to experience it.
Between my 2 kids and I, we ordered the turkey burger, fish and chips and a quinoa burger. The presentation of everything was beautiful! (see photos) The two burgers were tasty but we wanted a sauce of sorts as the sandwich came without condiments. The buns were ordinary, but being so spoiled with our own homemade yummy buns, it’s hard to beat! The burgers themselves were great and it was so much fun to eat! The fish and chips were amazing exactly as ordered.
We enjoyed tart freshly made lemonade and were completely stuffed by end of meal. We didn’t get to dessert.
The owner, David Dewsbury, opened this restaurant in 2010 and followed his dream to be his own boss and make a gluten-free safe place that had delicious food. We salute him and are so glad to have found this place. What a great experience we had and I highly recommend it, especially if you have allergies, intolerances or Celiac!
